It’s only 24 days till Easter weekend at WCCC. I can’t wait!
The theme of our 5 services will be ‘The Wall.’ Everyone has at least one wall – something that holds you back. It might be physical, financial, marital, or spiritual. But God specializes in knocking down big walls. At Easter Jesus broke through the biggest wall ever – death!! If you know someone who needs a break-through, get them here on Easter weekend.
Easter Weekend Service Times are Saturday, April 23 @ 5:00 & 7:00 pm and Sunday, April 24 @ 8:30, 10:00, & 11:30 am. WCCC artists Paula Stefanovich, Michael Boggs, and the WCCC choir will be here. If you did not indicate on your Connection Card which Easter service you plan on attending, please do so this coming weekend. This pre-Easter polling helps us ensure we have open space at each worship service and helps us plan staffing for children’s programming. (If you already filled out a card with this info, you do not have to do so again.) Early polling indicates that we need more people attending at our current 10:45 Sunday service to attend at the 11:30 am Easter Sunday service. If you attend at 10:45 on Sundays, would you consider this?
Easter Invite cards will be in the bulletin (and at the Welcome Center) for you to use with your friends/family in coming days. Start thinking now about the ONE you will invite.
We want to leverage our annual Fish Fry to invite and invest in people leading up to Easter weekend. It is Friday, April 15 (4-8pm). Tickets are now on sale in the Atrium after services. Why not identify the ONE that you will invite and buy ONE ticket for them. We have the best fish in town (and the best crew to cook it!). Some volunteer opportunities still exist to serve in ONE area. Various signup sheets are at the fish fry table too.
Something new and exciting is coming soon to the Whitewater Campus just in time for Easter! A Connection Tent. (You may have seen the construction items last weekend outside around the patio area.) In order to alleviate space in the Café/Atrium area, we are relocating the tent that was in the back grassy area closer to the church building over the patio. Access to the tent will be from the Atrium, as well as the Youth Wing hallway. Unless very inclement weather, it will be open each weekend. Large outdoor heaters will be utilized when temperatures warrant. Many connecting activities will be conducted in there on weekends – things like a ‘Greet/Meet’ for first time visitors with me after each Sunday service, tables which will showcase certain ministries, and another coffee station! This will open up some critical space and alleviate congestion in the Atrium on Sunday morning especially. The Connection Tent is available to be used by other groups for meetings, etc. during the week if you want (schedule/reserve through the office as usual). Like everything else in this growing church, we’ll evaluate the tent as we go forward.
2011 is already a third over and our year of ‘The One’ is going really well. ‘The One’ T-shirts go on sale this coming weekend in the bookstore. Cost is $7.00 with many sizes available. Snag one and start wearing it (when the weather gets warmer). You never know. That ONE shirt may produce that ONE conversation that will lead someone to Christ and ONE visit to the church this Easter season!
P.S. One technical item. We are experiencing some difficulty sending church emails (from the staff) to those of you with yahoo email accounts. This has been an issue for the past couple of weeks. (The Direct from David goes out through a different server/provider). The Engineering Staff from our email provider is working with Yahoo to get this resolved as quickly as possible.
P.P.S. We could still use a few more buddies for this Friday’s Respite Nite. We don’t want to have to turn anyone away! Please email Michele Haas @ firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help show God’s love to some families who would be blessed by it.
