The past 30 days at Whitewater Crossing have been filled with pictures of a fully functioning church in action! Congrats to the teams, servants, and leaders who rippled God’s wonderful love in ever increasing waves. The Cinderella Project Day of Pampering (the best one yet), Labor 4 Your Neighbor work day (the sun and THE SON were shining), as well as the Respite Nite for children with special needs (It was “Party On!”) displayed the church at her best! Our Tabernacle weekend series was filled with key ‘God Moments’ where the veil was parted and we caught a glimpse of His glory. (A huge thanks to Roy Moore who facilited those awesome props!)
The next 30 days will be filled with several once-in-a-whole-year opportunities to inspire, invest, and invite as we move toward ‘The Wall’ and our 5 Easter weekend services. Use those great Invite Cards to do your best inviting. (Extra ones are at the Welcome Center.) Look for an email tomorrow from the church with an e-vite that you can forward to all your friends/family. Can’t wait for them (and you) to experience ‘The Wall’ and services that day! WCCC artists Paula Stefanovich, Michael Boggs, and the WCCC choir will be here.
Could I ask a favor of you? A big one! Looking at our Connection Card polling, we have a high need for those who indicated they were going to attend at the 10:00 am Sunday service to switch to the 11:30 am service (or the 7 pm Saturday service). Would you consider this? We simply need to create more space at the 10 am service for new people who will be coming.
Have you purchased your ticket yet for the upcoming Fish Fry on April 15th? And ‘1 more’ for a guest to bring with you? You can purchase your tickets after services this weekend at the door as well as the day of the big fry. Best fish in town!! I got word from Kurt Mechley this week that we really need some full propane tanks, bottled water, and volunteers to assist with clean up.
Plans are proceeding for us to debut The Connection Tent on April 16/17 weekend. Unless inclement weather, it will be open each weekend. Many connecting activities will be conducted in there – things like a ‘Greet/Meet’ with me after service for first-time visitors, tables which will showcase certain ministries, and another coffee station. Check it out. Our hope is that this will open up some critical space and alleviate congestion in the Atrium. We’ll evaluate as we go forward.
We sold a ton of ‘The One’ T-shirts last weekend in the bookstore. Cost is $7.00 with many sizes available. Snag one before they’re gone!
One more thing I wanted to mention which you will see this month. With all the activities/meetings occurring on our campus in the evenings these days, (some nights every room is reserved!), we have approved/hired 2 new part time support staff (10 hours a week each) to serve the church body. The Facility Host and Event Host will serve as a member of our Facilities Team and are responsible/ available for multiple tasks during evening hours to ensure groups/participants have their facility, security, and logistical needs met. We are pleased that WCCC member Donna Patrick has accepted the position of Facility Host (Donna has been serving already as a faithful volunteer in the facilities department), and member James Loccisano has accepted the position of Event Host. As you navigate through our campus in the evenings, you will no doubt get to meet them. Welcome them to our team!
The next 30 days, as we work toward Easter (and then follow-up afterward), are huge. What part will you play in the next 30 days in helping people get to heaven?
P.S. News Flash – We just scheduled an Encore Concert with WCCC Artist Jaci Velasquez and her husband Nic (lead singer for the band Salvador),for Saturday evening, May 21 after the Saturday service. (Jaci will be here leading worship that weekend as well.)
