Open Waters

Hi Friends!

This month we are studying UN-named people in the Bible whom God used in UN-usual ways. Ordinary people who produced an extra-ordinary difference.

This past weekend, I led us through the story of Naaman in 2 Kings 5. He had an un-named young servant girl, who told him about a prophet who could heal him of his leprosy. All he had to do was obey the prophet’s direction and dip himself in the Jordan River 7 times.

After some prideful hesitation, Naaman submitted (and was healed).

Here’s the cool part. Naaman’s story can also be yours. For those of you who have never been immersed in water to cleanse you from your disease of sin, this week can be YOUR week!

We are inviting anyone who has not been baptized yet by immersion, to come any day this week to the church house for a private baptism. You don’t have to make an appointment or anything! Just show up anytime Monday through Saturday this week between 9:00am – 7:00pm and one of our staff/elders will be here to perform your baptism. (Just come to the office door.) Bring your family or small group with you or simply come by yourself. Bring something to wear that you don’t mind getting wet (we’ll also have t-shirts/clothes here too).

The children’s ministry is also offering a class for anyone 12 or under who wants to be baptized on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday night from 6:00-6:45. No appointment is necessary for the class, but we believe passionately that this class is an essential Starting Point for anyone under 12 considering this unique baptism opportunity. Children and their families can come and hear God’s Big Story about them.

Come on! Have you been procrastinating this HUGE decision? Naaman initially did too! Please don’t let Satan feed you lies that you aren’t good enough, you don’t know enough, you’ve never done it, or you can do it later. You’re not promised a later! Seize this opportunity! Like Naaman, you’ll be so glad you did.

See you in the water!
