Only one week till Christmas Day. Can you believe it? Which means only one week to do your best inviting for the Christmas Eve service! Remember, we are an I.C.E. church – Invite for Christmas Eve! Those gathering times are 3pm, 5pm, and 11pm. All the services will be family friendly with children’s packets available synched with our Peanuts Christmas characters, and a cry room provided with the service simulcast there. I will be teaching at all three services. I am really excited about the message I have been working on!
Use those Christmas Eve Invite Cards or e-mail and interact/share via Facebook (Invite). Guest Services Leadership is still staffing for Christmas Eve. We are expecting 1000+ people to visit our campus, and it’s our goal to welcome and guide them well. We need those currently on our Guest Services team to serve at a gathering (3p, 5p, or 11p). If you’d like to serve, but not on the regular Guest Services Team, we’d love to have you join the team for a one time serving opportunity. Click here to register.
Before and after all our Christmas Eve services, you can also mark the moment by having your family photographed for Christmas too — FREE of charge! Look for the photo area in the Atrium. When your photo is taken, you will receive directions on how to retrieve it from a web site to print.
Don’t forget to bring your Christmas Eve love gift for the poor. The real HUNGER GAMES are being played out all around us at Whitewater. This annual benevolent offering blesses hundreds of people in and out of the church for all of next year. 100% of what you give goes to people in a season of shortage. We are praying to break our record offering last year of $23,000. Let’s do it! Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.
Speaking of year-end giving, it’s that most wonderful time of the year – to not only give (because He gave), but to bless others, help reduce our church mortgage debt, and also get some nice tax breaks! IRS rules provide great options; however, the clock is ticking for 2013 deductions. Any gift for 2013 must be postmarked/received by midnight on December 31. Beyond the weekend offerings, the church office will be open till 5pm on Dec 31 if you want to drop it off (and our church website is open right up till midnight if you want to E-Give!) Please visit Charitable Contributions for great tax/donation information on year end giving. If you wonder whether your year-end gifts will still matter, let me assure you they will!
Our Toy Store was once again a huge success and blessing to people. Jane Gruber and team adjusted to the snow and ice to bless people over two evenings. They were simply amazing. Thank you again for your generosity. We were even able to donate our leftover toys to St. Joseph Orphanage, who takes care of 1200 kids in the orphanage and foster homes! Can’t wait to see the doors that God will open through the 2013 Toy Store.
A big shout out, too, to Donna Patrick on our staff and those who showed up for ‘Sparkle Day.’ The building looks awesome!
Got any questions about God, the Church, or the Bible you always wanted to ask? This year’s Q/A session called Hey David! happens on Dec 28/29 weekend. Here’s how you can get involved:
• Record a short video asking your question.*
• Send the link to email@example.com
• We might answer your question LIVE on the Dec 28/29 weekend!
You can also just e-mail the question if video isn’t your thing.
See you this weekend as we take a look at more Christmas Characters – some wise guys who followed starry skies. It would be a wise move for you to be here too in order to worship the one born in the manger. Hey – did you know you’ve only got 1 week left!?
